Static Surveys
Receiver must resolve phase ambiguity with each occupation hence sessions are longer (more accurate at the cost of long occupation).

Kinematic (dynamic) Surveys
These surveys have short durations at each occupation as these resolve ambiguity once at the beginning of session. Then by keeping a lock on satellites, it maintains that solution for rest of the work (short occupation at the cost of accuracy).
