Chris barker gave us the idea of ‘body work' which includes regimes of diet, fashion, cosmetic surgery, exercise, health precaution strategies and even organ transplants. And once we do this work on the body the body becomes the site of cultural practice.

We in Cultural Studies are not interested in understanding the nature of time but in trying to see how understandings of time have been put to use by power through representation. Imre Szeman and Timothy Kaposy have remarked:

“ Cultural theories which deal with time are interested in understanding the uses to which narratives of temporality have been put and their implications for how we imagine who and what we are and might yet become. ”

Space is another site of culture and is not simply topographical or geographical but a social construction because space is related to work, family, leisure , consumption and privacy .
