This chapter is an attempt to provide a basic knowledge about the fuel
consumption and vehicular emissions.
The concepts of air pollution and automobile pollution are also given due
importance.
Various types of numerical models related to fuel consumption and air pollution
are discussed briefly.
The report aims to identify the necessity of understanding the impact of
vehicular pollution on the environment.
In order to bring the fuel consumption and emission levels to a minimum,
various mitigation measures are to be implemented, which are also pointed out
in the report.
