Raman Spectroscopy:

A Raman system typically consists of four major components as shown in Figure 39.02.

1. Excited source (laser)

2. Sample illumination system and light collection optics

3. Wavelength selector (Filter or spectrophotometer)

4. Detector (CCD, PMT, photodiode array)

In addition to these, the microscope is also employed for surface enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS).
