Types of Measurements Using Magnetometers:

(ii) Temperature dependent measurements:

The temperature dependent measurements are generally carried out in two ways: (i) By performing M-H loop at different constant temperatures over a wide range of temperature to extract various magnetic parameters such as coercivity, saturation magnetization as a function of temperature and (ii) by performing thermomagnetization (M-T) measurements under zero-field cooled (ZFC) and field-cooled (FC) conditions at different constant applied magnetic fields.

Figure 31.05: M-H loops measured at different temperatures for FeTaC (t nm) and extracted values of coercivity and magnetization as a function of temperatures [6].

Figure 31.05 shows the typical M-H loops of FeTaC (t nm) films measured at different temperatures for different thickness and extracted values of coercivity and saturation magnetization are plotted as a function of temperatures. These studies can be used to understand the variation of temperature dependent magnetic parameters in correlation with the thermomagnetization data.
