In matter of international cooperation in the sphere of environmental
protection, Ministry of Environment and Forest is the nodal agency for
United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), South Asia Cooperation
Environment (SACEP), International Centre for Development (ICIMOD) and
Forest regional bodies and multi-lateral institutions. Coordinate all
bilateral cooperation environments. India has got cooperation with Netherlands,
Japan, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Great Britain, U.S.A., Russia and Canada.
India's signatory to the important Treaties/Agreements in the field
of Environment viz. However for making the environment protection programme more effective,
the following steps need to be enhanced in the area of international
co-operation.
