Criteria of purity

All scientists observe systems, make observations and draw conclusions from their results.

However, we must know for certain exactly what is under scrutiny. Otherwise any results obtained are simply a worthless jumble of irreproducible facts.

Even a sample taken from a labeled bottle is no assurance of purity!
