Polyphasic taxonomy
Studying phylogeny based on both genotypic and phenotypic information ranging from molecular characteristics to ecological characters.
Numerical Taxonomy
Computer based approaches of grouping organisms is called Numerical taxonomy which is based on presence or absence of selected characters in the group of organisms. It is method of estimating percent similarity (ratio between the number of characters same and total number of characters organisms having). This method has great practical usefulness as well as being relatively unbiased in its approach. It has high degree of stability and predictability.
