By Newton's third law, the force on $Q_1$ due to $Q_2$ is ,
SUPERPOSITION PRINCIPLE
According to superposition principle, the force on a charge (called the test charge ) due to a collection of charges is equal to the vector sum of forces due to each charge on the test charge . A test charge, by definition, is a charge with infinitisimally small magnitude such that other charges in its vicinity experience negligible force due to it.
The force on the test charge $Q$due to charges $Q_1, Q_2, \ldots Q_N$is
