Determination of Heat of adsorption

The temperature dependence of K can be used to determine the isoseric enthalpy of adsorption ( , the enthalpy of adsorption at a fixed surface coverage).

From Langmuir adsorption isotherm, fraction of covered surface, (36.3.1)

or

So from free.equation ,

Thus, a plot of lnP against 1/T should be a straight line with slope . Therefore could be determined from the slope.
