It is clear from the figures that all the layer structures (see TEM image in Figure 33.04) exhibit L10 ordered FePt films exhibiting hard magnetic properties on top of FeTaC soft magnetic films with suitable intermediate layers of MgO and SiO2.
As the thickness of soft magnetic films is quite large and having high saturation magnetization, the hard magnetic properties of the FePt films was carried out using Kerr loop and the results are shown in Figure 33.04.
