As a scholar committed to the popularization of science and scientific ideas it has been the mission of Dawkins to argue against supernatural existence which is directly or indirectly focused in his other books. Dawkins refers to what is perhaps the most powerful idea or meme in mankind, namely, the god meme. Dawkins says that the idea of god probably originated many times by independent ‘mutation'.  It replicates itself via religious leaders, gurus and the written word – in scriptures, aided by great music and great art: As Dawkins suggests, “The high survival value of the god meme in the meme pool results from its great psychological appeal .” Fear is elementary to us and the god meme helps us cope with fear and that is why it has a great psychological appeal and the meme has gained great acceptance throughout the ages: “It provides a superficially plausible answer to deep and troubling questions about existence. It suggests that injustices in this world may be rectified in the next”.
