12.2.3 Intercepts:
(i)
For a function , the values such that are called the zeros , or the - intercepts of .
  This means that the points lie on the graph of .
(ii)
Similarly, for a function , the point such that is called the -intercept for the function
  . This means that the point is on the graph of .
Note that while a function can have more than one -intercepts, it can have only one -intercept.
