Molecular Weight
The molecular weight distribution is important in the first and second
configurations which are also referred as thermoplastics. In thermosets, a
gelled network of essentially infinite molecular weight is formed, so the idea
of a "molecular weight distribution" is absent for such polymers.
Definitions of average molecular weight:
Weight average MW:
Where. Mi is the mass of the ith polymer chain; Ni is the number of
chains with that mass.
