Kinematics of a particle moving on a curve

You may play the following animation to get a feel of this. In this animation, a particle is a moving on a curved path. Initially, it accelerates and then decelerates. During its motion, the tangential acceleration changes its direction, but the normal component points always towards the center of curvature. At A, the particle is accelerating and at B and C, it is decelerating.
