The space $E^n\sqcup_p\mathbb{R}P^{n-1}$ is homeomorphic to the real projective space $\mathbb{R}P^n$. Thus $\mathbb{R}P^n$ is obtained from $\mathbb{R}P^{n-1}$ by attaching an $n$-cell.
