Strengths of JV

Let us first look at the strengths of JV. To me the major strengths of JV are:

  • An integrated philosophy. JV presents an integrated philosophy which encompasses all major issues of life and society. It covers physical and mental health issues, dealing with relations, handling social issues, social and physical environment, place of humans among living beings, matter and life, and ultimately a philosophy of existence. In JV there is an attempt to respond to all your questions.

  • Primacy of individual agent. JV does not believe in imposing any ontology on individual. It only helps individual to systematize his questions and shows a way to resolve them. It stresses natural acceptance of answers. Here the term natural acceptance has two meanings: (a) your answers depend on the fact that you are a human being and there is a common conditioning of humans in all circumstances; and (b) when your issues are clarified you have spontaneous, natural answers to your questions, which are not dependent on any religious or social text, saint, leader, or ideology. The true philosophy of man is natural to man. Today the world is replete with all kinds of philosophies, and religious and political ideologies. People follow them mostly due to memberships of specific groups, identity and fear. Experience shows that commonly they carry doubt about what they are expected to practice or they practice because in certain domains they are forbidden to apply their mind. This is also true about social scientists, who must see reality in certain perspectives and technical ways. They must use certain technical concepts, modes and constructs to deal with reality. They are bound to do so as a member of a profession but their heart says something else. Unlike this, in JV there is greater reliance on natural acceptance. This is a revolutionary idea.
