Module 12:Human values and humanism: dilemmas and directions
  Lecture 37: Value Education -II

JV makes use of the old, established terms but imputes new meanings into them (personal conversation with A. Nagraj, 2010). It is, therefore, necessary to look at the definitions of some terms used in the course of living harmoniously with others. Every single individual wants all of what are defined in Table 37.2 to fulfill the needs of I as well as the needs of others.

Table 37.2: Some Key Terms of JV and their Meanings
Term Definition
Respect Right evaluation on the basis of I, not on the basis of body, status and age only. Respect also implies right evaluation – neither under-evaluation nor over-evaluation
