Criticisms have been leveled against Park for concentrating more on the biotic aspect in his later work at the neglect of cultural factors. The approach is oriented towards geo-physical aspects of the city rather than to its social life, groups and institutions. Though liberal minded, his position was too much in favour of the status-quo since he spoke of natural habitat for the population.
