The Bauhaus produced some of the futuristic design that remained extremely popular for the next century. The simplicity and clarity in form is one of most popular aspects that have remained successful even after so many years. Use of traditional wood is in armchair design (plate 10A) is being incorporated with simplicity of form and material. The Tea Strainer (plate 10B) shows striking new vernacular in term of material (steal body and ebony handle) and form. The slickness of form and the shining appearance certainly gives an elegance that is totally new. The use of metal pipe and leather combination in chair design (plate 10C) gives beautiful elegance, lightweight and positive-negative space opening. The new material has played important role in creating such light weight yet stable and study structure.
