Modern aircraft wings (plate 34A) are not built based on the early tensile structure covered with softer material. The early planes (plate 34B&C) were built with the help of soft skin stretched over a rigid skeleton. Modern aircraft wings have rigid skin. Early aircraft wings were built with the tensile structures like bat’s wings. Soft skin covered the tensile structures. It does not have the rigid exoskeleton structure that protects softer membrane with the help of hard shell. Modern aircraft wing is designed similar to lobster (plate 34D) that has harder outer shell to protect the inner softer substance.

Application of scissors mechanism has inspired Charles Moore (24 July 2008) to invent an interesting solution for cleaning the keyboard (plate 35A). Each key-button is mounted on a scissors (plate 35B) which has a compressed air underneath. Each time we type the air releases under pressure continues to keep dust removed from bellow each key. It is indeed an excellent innovation based on the scissors paradigm. It is known as- “The Compressed Air Keyboard Repair”

Bigger and smaller paradigm has motivated to invent numerous designs through centuries. Each paradigm thus has inspired man to invent things for our safety and comfort. Scissors Paradigm is part of bigger and smaller that has inspired to search for other paradigms, such as- expansion and contraction. We have seen many other similar simple or complex paradigms.
