Expansion and Contraction Paradigm can be experienced because of physical conditions to non-living elements. The Gas Pipeline (plate 7A) is laid in flexible way so that the expansion and contraction due to heat and cold does not break the pipeline. Taking advantage of such characteristics man has utilized various materials. Metal can expand and contract due to the changing temperatures. The sonic exhaust pipe (plate 7B) controls the sonic effect has the expansion quality under heat or cold conditions. Different metals expand due to different heat or contract at a rate due to cold temperature. This property is exploited through various product designs. Expansion and contraction- get larger (expand) or smaller (contract) due to changing temperature and moisture contain. One may experience expansion and contraction of chest (plate 7C) while heavy breathing.  Due to thermal changing conditions the natural rock (plate 7D) crack or shows change in its surface.  Concrete slabs do have similar feature that may develop cracks (plate 8B) due to the fluctuating temperature.
