Man has used ‘spoon’ mechanism (paradigm) to facilitate our physical limitation, such as- lifting liquids, hot substance, holding cereals, etc. Spoon has replaced the functioning of fingers in many cases. It is one of the earliest tools that human beings started using for various purposes. It is being used for measuring liquids or semi-solids from ancient period.
Traditionally spoons are made with metal (plate 18A), terra-cotta clay (plate 18B), stone (plate 18C), wood (plated), copper or silverware (plate 18E). A spoon is an implement usually made of metal or plastic, with a concave-shaped container attached with a handle. A spoon usually acts upon a liquid. One can use spoon to stir a liquid, functioning like paddle. Nevertheless, spoon adds a capability beyond the paddle: you can lift and drink liquids with it, such as soup. Spoons are used for solids as well, particularly with small particles like those found in granulated sugar. Spoon has the property like Nesting Paradigm.
