  • Points or shapes or intervals
 
  • Discrete or continuous
 
  • Dimensionality and/or distance
 
  • Queries on data
 
  • Index data or index space where data resides
 
  • Static or dynamic
 
  • Memory (small) or disk-resident (large)
  • Properties:
 
  • Fast access
 
  • Update overhead
 
  • Small size
 
  • Correctness
