Surveying is being used for ownership and transfer of the land from time immemorial. But, real boost in its development started with the introduction of telescope as a unit of measuring instruments. Further developments in other branches of science and engineering are providing boost in the development of techniques and instrumentations in surveying in an enormous pace. However, in this course work discussions are restricted to established methods and instruments widely used in surveying.
