(1) Paramagnetic metal ions : Essentially non-fluorescent

(2) Increasing atomic number : Fluorescence reduced

InQ₃ < GaQ₃<AlQ₃

(3) Covalent nature of the metal-ligand bonding increased : Emission shifts to longer wavelength.
