Course Name: Introduction to Paninian grammar

Course abstract

This course introduces a reader of basics of Paninian grammar. It provides information related to the grammar written by Panini as well as the tradition which continued to study this grammar and continued to add to it in the course of time and which continues to do so even today. It wsill introduce the grammar of Panini to linguists, Indologist as ewll as Computer Scientist in particular.

Prof. Malhar Kulkarni

Malhar Kulkarni is a student of Paninis grammar and teaches it at IIT Bombay. Malhar Kulkarni studies Paninis grammar in the traditional way as well as historical, university way and has been teaching it in both ways for more than 20 years now. He continues to contribute to this tradition by writing in English as well as in Sanskrit. Notable amongst his Sanskrit contributions is Sabdaustra, an unpublished original sutra text on Grammar and Language.
