Course Name: Fundamentals of Compressible Flow

Course abstract

Gas Dynamics is a subject of fundamental interest to Mechanical and Aerospace engineers that provides a link between fundamental subjects i.e. "Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics". It pertains the basic theory of compressible flow, formation of shock waves and expansion waves, nozzle flows.

Prof. Niranjan Sahoo

Prof. N. Sahoo has been affiliated to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Guwahati since 2004. His broad research interest include Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer. He has undertaken various interdisciplinary courses within Department and NPTEL platform. Besides, he has published several research papers in peer-reviewed International Journals and Conferences. He gas guides several PhD scholars.
