Course Name: DC Microgrid and Control System

Course abstract

This course is suitable for PG students studying in power electronics, power system and system & control subjects. The course details the fundamental concepts of microgrid and its components, types of microgrids, advantages of microgrid compared to the central conventional grid. Particularly the course describes general concepts and application, control strategies and principle of operation of DC microgrid. The course is very applicable for students and researchers from power system, power electronics and control system area who to do research in fast growing and emerging renewable energy technology.

Prof. Avik Bhattacharya

Dr Avik Bhattacharya joined in IIT Roorkee in February 2014. His field of interest are DC Microgrids, FACTS, Power Quality, Solid state transformer, SIC and Gian devices. He has thought Power Electronics in IIT Roorkee for two years and FACT Devices for four years. His first NPTL lectures on FACT Devices have been enrolled by more than two thousand students. Dr Bhattacharya before joining IIT Roorkee has served power electronics industries of internationally repute organizations. His teachings thus have a proper blend of industry academic orientation.
