Course abstract

The course covers the basis of organometallic reactions starting from the basic knowledge of inorganic chemistry. It includes a portion of some famous cross coupling reactions like Heck reaction, Suzuki reaction, etc. which are of great utility in modern day synthetic chemistry.

Prof. D.Maiti

Prof. Debabrata Maiti has done BSc (Chemistry), MSc (Chemistry, IIT B) and received his Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University (USA) in 2008. After postdoctoral studies at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), he joined the Department of Chemistry at IIT Bombay in 2011. His research and teaching interests include organometallic chemistry, the development of new and sustainable synthetic methodologies and mechanistic insight.
