Course abstract
The course is a rigorous introduction to principles of quantum chemistry and also describes all mathematical details at the introductory level, accurately however. It is limited to elementary model problems, angular momentum and spin and an introduction to chemical bonding in one and two-electron systems.

Prof. Mangala Sunder Krishnan, Ph. D. (McGill University, Canada, 1988) is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry, He is also a National coordinator for the NPTEL project through which this course is being offered. He has been associated with the NPTEL project and the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT) from the beginning of both programmes.More info
