Welcome to the First Mile Foundation Program. Thank you for signing up and congratulations on taking a great first step to building an exciting engineering career.

The First Mile Foundation Program is an 8-9 week course run by the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning and delivered by the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras.
You will receive guidance from a much-revered facultyProfessors Hema A Murthy and Shankar Balachandran from the Computer Science Department, Indian Institute of Technology-Madraswho will deliver the course.

Prof. Hema A Murthy

Hema A. Murthy is a Professor in the Computer Science and Engineering Department at IIT Madras. She received her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from IIT Madras in 1992 and her Masters degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from McMaster University, Canada in 1986.

Prof. Shankar Balachandran

Shankar Balachandran is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science and Engineering Department at IIT Madras. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2005 and B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Madras in 1998.
