  Exercise
 
A chromel-constantan thermocouple with the cold junction at $0^\circ$ C has a linear variation of the open circuit voltage for temperatures of the hot junction between $0^\circ$ C and $200^\circ$ C. Calculate the thermo-emf when the hot junction is maintained at $150^\circ$ C. [ Hint : Emf is zero when both the junctions are at the same temperature] (Ans. 9.5 mV)
