5.4.4 Depolarization of Piezoelectrics
Just like a ferroelectric material can be poled, opposing polarity, high electric field or thermal cycling close to Tc or the application of large mechanical stresses can lead to the disappearance of polarization or rather result in alignment of dipoles gets lost.
