In Figure 36.2, a typical application of active ERF mounting on a flexible beam is shown.

Here, the flexible beam is excited by an electromagnetic exciter; acceleration, displacement and force are sensed at locations 1, 2 and 3, respectively, and fed-back to a micro-processor, which in turn, controls the voltage applied to the ERF mount.
