Summary of the Lecture
- Active Vibration Control (AVC) is shown to be absolutely necessary for vibration control in space structure where passive vibration control accrues high weight penalty
- Control-Structure Interaction problems during movement/maneuvering of flexible-body system needs AVC – a case study related to MACE experiment is illustrated.
- AVC could also be used for traditional systems like Vehicle Suspension where low-frequency vibration isolation is necessary. Again a test-case is discussed.
- The disadvantage of AVC, specially spillover is explained.
- Finally, three basic control strategies are outlined.
- In the next lecture, we will talk about classical SISO control for AVC
