Fractional Derivative Model

As we have observed in the last two models that often a large number of system parameters are required to describe the behaviour of VEM. Using, fractional calculus one can reduce the number of system parameters significantly. Hence, this model is popular from the computational point of view. The stress-strain relationship using fractional calculus may be expressed as

where is a fractional derivative such that

The same relationship in the frequency domain may be expressed as

where

and β varies between 0.4 to 0.7
