The shadowgraph video sequence shows a heated jet of water being discharged into a cooler environment containing water at room temperature. The hot water temperature at the nozzle exit is 55^oC while the surrounding water temperature is 25^oC. The nozzle diameter is 10.5 mm and the flow rate is 4 liters per minute. The jet Reynolds number based on inflow conditions is around 17000. The jet is in the mildly mixed convection regime and becomes turbulent downstream.
