Module 2: Review of Probes and Transducers
  Lecture 7: Pressure measurement

The pressure difference can also be measured on a digital manometer which uses a pressure transducer such as a capacitance pick-up. An electronic circuit can be used to extract the velocity of the fluid as well by calculating at a reference density (normally at C). The advantages of using a digital manometer are:

1. Convenience in making an observation

2. Possibility of obtaining an analog/digital output in proportion to the instantaneous pressure

3. Time-averaging the pressure output to obtain a mean value.
