Introduction: perspectives on relationship between man and society

This lecture is devoted to theoretical understanding of the relationship between man and society. Two elementary books which are useful for discussing the subject are What is Sociology? An Introduction to the Discipline and Profession, by Alex Inkeles, and Sociology: Themes and Perspectives, by M. Haralambos. The purpose is to introduce a few sociological models to students of social values who must learn the importance of perspectives for a meaningful discussion of man and society. Major methodological and theoretical ideas are included.
