It is clear from the above that for Gaur et al., as the proponents of value education and professional ethics, professional ethics is just another term for Jeevan Vidya. The logic is simple: everyone understands the wrongness of wrong practices but no one among the corrupt people has the right understanding of self.In absence of right understanding of self one is not able to see the value of ethical conduct for himself. In the book A Foundation Course in Human Values and Professional Ethics out of 16 chapters only one is devoted specifically to professional ethics. Even in this chapter stress is placed more on the general framework of Jeevan Vidya. The assumption is that without firm rooting in Jeevan Vidya no professional ethics can be developed. Foundation course of Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU, 2011) also illustrates that Jeevan Vidya comprises the major part of their professional ethics course called a foundation course in human values and professional ethics.
Only the last of the five modules of the course includes discussion of holistic technologies, management models and production systems (http://uptu.ac.in/academics/syllabus/human_values.pdf).
Even here the emphasis is more on natural acceptance, ethical human conduct, humanistic education and enriching institutions and organizations. Same is the case with Punjab Technical University which says: “The purpose for the introduction of the course is to address the real purpose of education."
