Globalization as a new risk

Globalization is a new risk in the fractured society of India. In the post-reform period science and technology are working in the interest of international and national capital at the cost of people and their habitat. In several ways religion has co-opted science: there is no shortage of religious and traditional gurus who are presenting their magical, mythical and ancient ideas as scientific. Except in those cases in which science is combined with socialist thought science seems to have lost its critical and secular appeal. This is another reason why people have drifted away from scientific worldview to religion or are mixing science with religion. It’s an age of confusion and particularly fertile for transcendental, divisive and amoral thoughts.
