Coconut is an excellent example of nature’s method of protecting its continuous growth. The period of germination is the most important period for nature’s survival. Fibre of coir protects the inner seed from external water and other possible natural damages. The fibres are constructed in layers filled with air to absorb shocks when it hits the ground. Coconut trees grow near the sea coast. Naturally after it falls on the ground it is quite likely to get inside water. The coir filled with air helps it to float for days and months without any water seepage. It has natural protective system built on ‘object within object’ paradigm for the future germination (plate 4B- 4D).
