Module 9 : Passages
Lecture 29 : Introduction, pipe, passage in Nature

Introduction

Passage Paradigm indicates space that connects two ends. Passage reminds of corridor (plate 1A) through which we move. In nature rock formation frequently create natural passages (plate 1B) because of wind, water or chemical reactions. Passage also indicated travel to another place or country. Over all the concept of passage is to connect. Structurally pipe consists of passage to allow air and liquid pass through. The passage of ocean current (plate 1C) allows the cold and warm water flow across the globe. Sculptors play with space to create actual passage (plate 1D).

Passage Paradigm joins two separate members which relates to Joining and Attaching Paradigm. It helps for the free flow of space for movement to supply of fluids and gas. It may as well create real passage-space for easy physical (plate 1A-1C) movement. Visual Art (3D & 2D) has successfully played with the concept of space and passage in their compositions (plate 1D). Passage Paradigm is used frequently in our day to day life. Following are some of the examples of Passage Paradigm-
