The Flexstraw Paradigm is used for bending an external structure, or exoskeleton. It provides flexibility in movement of two joined members. The joint is flexible to stretch the outer surface while squeezing the inner side of the tube. Joseph Friedman earned U.S. Patent for his "drinking tube," or flexible straw (plate 16D). Automobile engine is fitted with hose/ tube (plate 16E) that has to remain flexible is part of ‘bending and flexing’ paradigm.
