Using hollow bone-pipe for painting the cave surface is based on a major paradigm that exists in nature- ‘pipe’. Man understood the parading of ‘pipe’ that has a hollow passage surrounded by a double walled material to allow gas or fluid to flow through. Observing the characteristics of a pipe man invented ‘blow-pipe’ for spraying color or blow arrow. Man understood the force applied from one end by blowing air would throw the substance inside the pipe could be thrown to a distance. The same principle is applied for traditional smoking around the world. Glass Blowing-pipe (plate 1C) is one of such devices that have produced majestic artistic works through centuries. Essentially by observing the nature’s paradigms, in this case pipe, man continuously keep on developing innovative design concepts for various utility based on the principles of paradigms. Thus, it is realized that nature has enormous amount of paradigms that could help mankind to develop innovative concepts for the mankind.
Lately Biomimicry (Design Paradigm) has become a field of meaningful research effort to examining nature’s paradigms consciously, its models, systems and processes. In the process man has learned to emulate or take inspiration from nature in order to solve their problems. Thus, nature became of the most inspiring domain and helped us to invent new things. Man has learned to mimic the principles of nature in their favour to develop designs for safety and comfort. .
