Glossary of Module 9 |
Triangulation : a method of surveying employed to establish control point. In this the terrain is divided into well conditioned triangles whose angles and lengths of base lines are measured accurately. Trilateration : In this method of surveying, employed to establish control point, the lengths of sides of the well conditioned triangles are measured very accurately. Traverse : In this method of surveying, employed to establish control point, the both lengths of sides and angles of the well conditioned triangles are measured very accurately. GNSS : Global Navigational Satellite System such as GPS, GLONASS etc. The receivers of these systems provide the position of control points and the azimuths of the lines directly through field observation and processing of software. |
