Exercise 30

Ex.30-1 Following field observations were taken for an anti-clockwise closed loop traverse using a tacheometer fitted with anallactic lens:

Line

Interior angle (anti-clockwise)

Stadia readings (m)

Verical Angle

AB

91° 49' 20"

0.475, 0.970, 1.470

+4° 32'

BC

105° 09' 20"

0.210, 1.160, 2.105

+3° 51'

CD

74° 27' 20"

0.760, 1.535, 2.310

-5° 04'

DA

88° 32' 40"

0.90, 1.020, 1.950

-2° 10'

(a) Find out the azimuth of the sides of the traverse assuming the Azimuth of AB as 85° 06' 20".

(b) Find out the length of the sides and differences in elevations between stations, considering the height of instrument at each station as 1.2 m.

(c) Find the amount of error of closure.

(d) Carry out the balancing of traverse adopting Bowditch's rule.

(e) Find out the CONSECUTIVE coordinates of the stations.

(f) Considering Station A as origin (10000, 10000), find out the INDEPENDENT coordinates of the stations.
