For smooth change in direction along a man-made route, a circular curve coupled with transition curve at its ends are provided. For smooth change in gradient, vertical curve parabolic in nature are provided. To set out the curves in the field, salient parameters of curves like radius of curvature, length, deflections angle offset, location and R.L. of salient points are required. Further, curves are set out in field by deflection angle method.
