M11-Ex1 Two tangents AB and BC intersect at chainage 1500.0 meter, the deflection angle being 50°. It is proposed to insert a circul;ar curve of 350 m radius with a transition curve of length 100 m at each end. Set out the curve by deflection angle method using peg intervals 20m and 30m respectively for the transition curve and circular curve. Show the necessary calculations for first half of the curve.

M11-Ex2 A reverse curve is to be set out between two parallel straights 35 m apart. The line joining the two tangent points is 400 m. Calculate the necessary data for setting out the curve by offsets from a long chord at intervals of 20 m from the common tangent point. Take R1 = R2.

M11-Ex3 A 3% rising gradient meets a 2 % down gradient. A vertical curve 200 m long is to be used. The pegs are to be fixed at 20 m interval. Calculate the elevation of the curve points, by tangent corrections and calculate the staff readings required, given that height of collimation is 350.0 m, R.L. of the apex is 350.575 m and its chainage is 1000.0 m.
